Recycling Update

 

Here's an update about the City's recycling pilot project. It was posted on www.MyArlingtonTx.com - the City's news blog.

From the survey, it looks like

• 84%, an overwhelming number of participants in the pilot program, enjoyed the cart over the bin;

 If you look in the comments section you'll see a few people pick at the article and the bin. These are the same people that villify recycling as some sort of green conspiracy theory to take over the world. The guess is that they don't recycle already and are just resistant to recycling.

Having carts on wheels would

• Allow easier transport of recycling to the curb
• Actually reduce the space taken up by recycling bins in the garage
• Make the neighborhood less messy on windy days
